#all right #get ready for my fucking feelings because here they come #merlin #is so fucking ready #for arthur to find out about his magic #he used to hide it and there is NO DENYING that by now he is BLATANTLY doing magic around arthur #LIKE THE SCENE RIGHT BEFORE THIS ARTHUR’S EYES WERE LITERALLY OPEN AND ON MERLIN WHEN MERLIN CAST THAT SPELL #and after arthur wakes up here merlin’s FRUSTRATED EXPRESSION when he realizes arthur doesn’t remember #(but like fuck he doesn’t) #and he looks so fucking disappointed and just grits out the rest of these lines like he’s at the END OF HIS ROPE #LIKE ‘WHAT THE FUCK DO I NEED TO DO FOR YOU TO REALIZE THIS’ #’I FUCKING JUGGLED IN FRONT OF YOU PUT IT TOGETHER PRAT’ #AND at the end of the episode right before mordred comes in where merlin is ready to go up against those bandits or w/e#RIGHT before mordred comes in you can see that fucking look in his eye #like he is MORE THAN READY to blast those motherfuckers apart with magic while arthur is RIGHT THERE #AND THEN THERE’S ARTHUR #arthur who HAS TO HAVE SEEN or at least HEARD merlin cast before #and would have to be an absolutely IDIOT not to have an idea of what’s going on #ARTHUR IS NOT AN IDIOT #LIKE SHUT UP HE WAS AWAKE WHEN MERLIN DID MAGIC FIVE MINUTES AGO #AND HE’S NOT DEAF OR BLIND OR FUCKING STUPID #and right after this when they’re walking through that field and tells merlin he can turn back if he’s scared #he is just the FACE OF CONFIDENCE #and why the HELL is he so confident that everything’s going to be fine #and that they’re not going to die #all they’ve got is him and his ~clumsy foolish manservant~ #arthur has no reason to be that confident unless he KNOWS merlin can protect them if need be like #arthur fucking knows okay he KNOWS BECAUSE HE HAS TO KNOW #AND MERLIN IS JUST INCREASINGLY DESPERATE FOR THIS TO COME OUT IN THE OPEN #and i swear to god if this all comes out and arthur is just shocked to pieces and caught totally off-guard #i am going to murder the writers #because this is an intelligent king who spends all his time with merlin #and he #fucking #knows #god kill me the writers want me dead anyway
